The Cheerleading chumba wamba

Cheerleaders!...who are these people, what cheer do they bring, who exactly do they lead ?
They are all over the network from NFL to NBA,Newsweek calls them "the most quintessential of American sports."...........Sport! really??

My view is that this is an absolute and best form of making a mockery out of a living soul, these people jiggle around mindlessly when sports men and women fight for prestige and livelihood in their professional matches. The intensity of their wiggle and jiggle increases during timeouts and breaks. People pay their hard earned bucks to watch and enjoy a competitive sport and all of a sudden out of no where you are treated to Hi-tech tribal dance, now these have even reached our ever so favourite cricket matches..remember the 20-20 world cup.

The other day I was watching the movie 'The Replacements'(as I didn't have any other options and downloading a movie is a real pain with a pathetically slow internet), at the climax when men fight for honor and glory in their sport we are intermittently bombarded by these cheerleaders who are striking some licentious, lewd postures....who the hell cares about those curves and their complicated postures when the game is going on pulsating mood, what exactly was the director telling(I am sure nothing) or may be it was just a marketing/business ploy to increase the viewer excitement...that is exactly what it didn't achieve.

To sum it up I quote the Wisconsin Press, "the cheerleader is seen as epitomizing mindless enthusiasm, shallow boosterism, and objectified sexuality"

little known fact.........President George.W.Bush was once a cheerleader....now that says a lot!

Hey man.. in that case we'll have to put in a lot more things in the limelight.Balamuralikrishna sir is pretty adamant about young beautiful girls sitting in the front row before he commences his concert. Before a chief guest arrives for a show, he is always greeted with girls in their traditional attire and what not. Big deal.. I think cheerleaders just make the whole thing more attractive and comon they are pretty much motivating.

BalamuraliKrishna..WoW...ummm I wonder how he concentrates on his singing by making pretty girls sit in front of him...doubly appreciated!!
A sport has to be a sport, men and women showcasing skill and talent, why do we need these girls in between....isn't the essence lost?

If they were a motivating factor...all conpanies would have had an in-house corporate cheerleading team...hooh..hey hooray...lol

Hey,have you ever been motivated by a Cheerleader?

My case is different...I've never needed a cheerleader to motivate me ! Like I have always said I am an optimist .. will remain one..:)
